Te Ahu a Turanga – Manawatū Tararua Highway
Working with the Te Ahu a Turanga Alliance, SouthernSkies has provided the erosion and sediment control lead through the consenting, design and establishment phases for the Te Ahu a Turanga - Manawatū Tararua Highway project. The 11.5km highway being constructed over the Ruahine Range has unique challenges presented by the route, side stepping through the Te Apati Windfarm and including steep slopes, large cuts and multiple river and stream crossings, and QEII protected areas.
The project has and is performing well with a consistent high standard of erosion and sediment control achieved the project team. As the project has progressed, Campbell and Gregor have provided ongoing advice, support and ESC training to the team to ensure that the high standards set at the design and establishment phases has continued.
